Hillel at VCU is your go-to hub for vibrant, inclusive Jewish life on campus! We host dynamic events, offer real leadership opportunities, and create spaces for students to build community and explore their Jewish identity.
2025-26 Class and Cohort Opportunties
Hillel Leadership Institute (Fall 2025-Spring 2026)
The Hillel Leadership Institute is a 10-session cohort experience that will help students build real leadership skills like communication, collaboration and delegation, and storytelling. Students will connect with a community of peers and leave with the tools to make a bigger impact on campus and beyond. Students earn a $150 stipend upon completion of the program. Apply by September 28. Possible meeting times:
Tuesday 3:30-5pm
Wednesdays 9-10:30am
Thursdays 8-9:30pm
Sundays 10-11:30am
Kol Yisrael (Fall 2025)
Kol Yisrael is a 6-week learning program for a small group of students. Zionism is a complex and often charged topic—so let’s talk about it. This series delves into the historical roots and contemporary realities of Zionism, exploring its evolution over time and the diverse perspectives that shape the ongoing conversation. Join us as we unpack the debates and deepen our understanding of this multifaceted subject. Those who complete the program will receive a $136 stipend. Class will meet on Fridays from 11:30am - 1pm. Apply by September 28.

Shabat Hosting Lab (Spring 2026)
Shabbat Hosting Lab is a program for students to dive deep into the history and practice of Shabbat, how to become an amazing Shabbat host, and grow together with a cohort of other great Jewish students. Those who complete the program will receive a $200 stipend. The application will be available in January 2026.

Available Positions for 2025-2026
Multifaith Intern (filled for 2025-26 school year)
The Multifaith Intern plays a key role in helping students build deep, meaningful relationships with peers and leaders from diverse faith communities across campus. Through this work, students cultivate understanding, trust, and a shared sense of humanity. By engaging in multifaith initiatives, our interns grow as empathetic listeners, thoughtful leaders, and bridge-builders—ready to navigate complexity and help shape a more inclusive, connected campus and world.
Service Intern (1 position available for 2025-2026 school year)
The Service Engagement Internship - Powered by Repair the World and Hillel International - gives SEI Interns the skills and resources to engage peers in service, civic engagement, and social change work. Each SEI Intern will receive a $500 stipend for completion of the program requirements along with a budget to support service work on campus.
Federal Work Study (filled for 2025-26 school year)
The FWS Intern is a dynamic leadership opportunity for students who qualify for Federal Work Study through their financial aid package. As a key member of the Hillel at VCU team, you’ll help build a vibrant jewish community through student centered programing, meaningful engagement, and hands on support. You will assist in running events, welcoming new students and creating an inclusive and joyful space on campus. You’ll have the chance to shape your experience based on your interests - whether thats event planning, education, or outreach.
Note: In order to be a candidate for this internship you must qualify for Federal Work Study.
Marketing Intern (filled for 2025-26 school year)
The Marketing Intern is essential to shaping how Hillel at VCU is seen and experienced, both online and on campus. Through graphics, storytelling, and strategic outreach, they help bring the spirit of Jewish life to life—amplifying student voices, promoting engagement, and building excitement for upcoming programs. By curating our social media presence, developing creative content, and maintaining brand consistency, our Marketing Intern plays a vital role in growing a vibrant, welcoming community. Through this work, they develop as intentional communicators, creative leaders, and cultural ambassadors.

Applications are open! Students interested in the FWS internship should submit an application on Handshake. If you don’t qualify for FWS but are still interested in interning with Hillel, send us an email with your resume, cover letter, and fall class schedule.
