Upcoming Event Highlights

Kick off the new semester with Hillel at VCU! Join us on Wednesday, August 19th, from 11:00 AM–3:00 PM for our Welcome Week Back Bagel Break. Stop by between classes to grab a free bagel, meet new and returning students, and reconnect after the summer. Come for a few minutes or stay and hang out—we can't wait to welcome you back!

Get creative and make something meaningful for your new space! Join us for Make a Mezuzah on Tuesday, August 25th from 4:00-6:00 pm. We will explore the tradition of the mezuzah and create our own personalized mezuzah cases to take home. Come enjoy some snacks, creativity, and new friends as we celebrate this special Jewish tradition together!

There’s no better way to start the semester than around the Shabbat table. Join us for our Welcome Back Shabbat Dinner on Friday, August 21st, from 6:30-8:00 pm following the SOVO fair. We’ll slow down after a busy first week, share a delicious meal, and enjoy an evening of connection and community.

Starting college is a big adventure - why not do it with a community by your side? Chai Five is a cohort for incoming first-year and transfer students at VCU designed to help you build friendships, explore Jewish life, and find your place on campus. Throughout the semester, you’ll connect with other students, learn together, and create meaningful memories with a group of peers who are also beginning their VCU journey.
