Who We Are

Hillel at VCU is the only non-denominational, egalitarian Jewish student organization on campus. Whether you're Jewish or just "Jew-ish," Hillel is your place to find community and meaningful Jewish experiences at VCU. We offer a wide range of programs that help students explore their identity in personally meaningful ways. From celebrating Shabbat and Jewish holidays to engaging in educational, social, and leadership opportunities, Hillel is here to support your journey.

See Our Impact

“Hillel has given me a community of friends that I can be myself with and continuously learn from. Hillel has given me a home away from home.”

Mara Lobley, Class of 2028

“For me, the beauty of Hillel lies in the freedom to be Jewish in so many different spaces. It’s a place where you can explore your identity, nourish your soul, and embrace your heritage with pride. At its heart, Hillel creates a sacred space for building and deepening your Jewish identity, whatever that journey looks like for you.”

Sarah Martin, Class of 2026

“Hillel was an integral part of my time at VCU. Joining Hillel gave me the opportunity to learn about Judaism in a way that felt personal to my life and gave me a different perspective on what Judaism could be. Now, I get to spend my days with young Jewish people helping them foster their own Jewish identity and create their own communities. It is so meaningful to me that Hillel provides a space for.”

Kayla Seabolt, Class of 2021
